Terms of Service
Where clarity has consequences, we write like people. Effective July 5, 2026.
1. Who we are and what this covers
RomanceLab ("we", "the Lab") operates romancelab.com: free relationship tools (Protocols, Assays, Field Notes) and a paid custom-song service ("The Song"). Using the site means you accept these terms. The service is for people 18 or older.
2. How the song service works
You provide details about a real person and co-write song lyrics with our AI-assisted tools, approving the final lyrics yourself. After payment, a person produces your song using AI music tools operated under a paid commercial license, and delivers two or more takes. You select which take is published to your song's private reveal page. Turnaround is promised within 48 hours of payment.
3. What's allowed and what isn't
The service exists to celebrate people who would be glad to hear the result. You may not use it to create content that: sexualizes any real person without their consent; involves a minor in any romantic or sexual framing; harasses, threatens, demeans, or doxxes anyone; impersonates someone; or infringes someone else's rights. We screen orders automatically and by hand, and we refuse ones that cross these lines – politely, plainly, and without charging you. Repeat attempts get banned.
4. Your content and your license
You keep ownership of the details and stories you submit; you grant us permission to use them solely to produce and deliver your order. We grant you a permanent, non-exclusive license to use your delivered song for any ordinary personal purpose: play it, download it, share it, use it at events, post it on personal accounts. You may not resell the song, license it commercially, or claim authorship of the production. We do not reuse your story or your song in our marketing – ever – without your explicit written permission.
5. Payment, refunds, revisions
Prices are shown before checkout and processed by Stripe; we never see your card number. Refunds and revisions are governed by the refund policy, which is short and honest.
6. The AI disclosure
Lyrics are AI-assisted and human-approved (by you). Audio is AI-generated and human-produced (by us). We disclose this on the product page, the FAQ, and delivery materials.
7. Free tools
Protocols, Assays, and Field Notes are provided as-is, for entertainment. Assay "findings" are comedy with percentages, not psychology, therapy, or advice. If your relationship needs professional support, please see a professional – genuinely.
8. Takedowns
If a reveal page contains content about you that you want removed, email us via the contact page with the link. A person will review and respond quickly – removal requests from the subject of a song are honored.
9. Liability, in proportion
We're a small studio making songs and free conversation tools. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from the service is capped at what you paid us for the order in question. We are not liable for how a gift lands – hearts are outside our jurisdiction.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date above moves when we do. Material changes to the paid service will be reasonable and forward-looking, never retroactive money-grabs.
